“You will be found.”
— Evan Hansen (Ben Platt).
Hello since this is my first post I would like to welcome all 2 of you that are going to be reading it. If, for some reason someone who doesn’t know me reads this I will introduce myself and give you a brief synopsis of my life.
First off let me give you a 50,000 feet view of my life: I am gay, I am a liberal, I am a Christian, and I work at Chick-fil-A. I know a list of contradictions.
My name is Turner Trotter and a fun fact about my name, I was in a musical when I was younger and they split my part between 2 people, the parts original character was named Karen Klein and since her initials KK they let me keep my name since my initials were already TT, and about half of the cast thought that was not my real name. So yeah that was an interesting experience. Then the next year I played a rapping mall cop, so yeah the Church musicals were just an interesting experience.
I grew up in a Conservative Christian home. That meant Church on Sundays and Wednesdays, homeschooled; attended co-ops, VBS, Church Retreats, Church Musicals, and the occasional Church weekend trip. I am grateful for a lot of things about the way I grew up. I am very grateful for growing up homeschooled, it allowed me to realize that there are many different ways people can learn, not everyone learns the same way and the idea that they can is why many kids suffer in school. Now lets move on to the Church, growing up in the Church skews your reality; it makes you believe that everything the Church says is true, the Church teaches us that questioning the Church is wrong and not allowed; I am grateful for a few leaders in my Church that welcomed question, deconstructing, and reconstructing of our Faith.
Well that was a little bit about me. This blog will literally be about anything I think of: Politics, the Church, coffee, queerness, and anything that happens to come to my mind.
Sincerely, Me
